About the salon
A small studioin Edinburgh
Lumiere is a four-chair studio just off the city centre. We keep appointments long enough to talk properly, check your hair before we start, and cut for how you actually wear it.
If something will not suit your hair, we will say so and suggest what would. You will always know the cost before we begin.

01Do I need a consultation before booking colour?
For a first colour appointment, yes. It is free, takes about fifteen minutes, and lets us check your hair condition, agree the result and confirm the exact price before you commit to a longer appointment.
02How long does a colour appointment take?
Between two and three hours depending on your hair length and the technique. We will give you an accurate time at your consultation so you can plan your day.
03Will colour damage my hair?
Not when it is done properly. We assess condition first and build bond protection into every colour service. If a result would compromise your hair, we will tell you and suggest a route that gets you there safely.
04How much does it cost?
Our starting prices are listed in the services section above. Final cost depends on hair length, thickness and how long your service takes, and is always confirmed before we begin.
05How often should I come back?
Most cuts hold their shape for six to eight weeks. Balayage and lived-in colour are designed to grow out softly, so three to four months between appointments is normal.
06What if I am not happy with the result?
Tell us within seven days and we will put it right at no charge. It rarely happens, because we agree the result together before starting.
